Gifford is a historic unincorporated community (census-designated place) in eastern Indian River County, just north of the City of Vero Beach and west of the Indian River. Organized in the mid-1880s and grown by workers on Flagler's railway, it is central to the county's Black history and remains a settled residential community of single-family homes. Most of the area has no HOA, with values varying by street and subdivision.
